The high-dose WEIDER Beta-Alanine capsules provide 4,400 mg of the body's own amino acid per serving. Beta-alanine is converted in the body, among other things, into the dipeotide carnosine, which is mainly present in high concentrations in the muscles and probably serves primarily as a pH value buffer. Although the essential amino acid L-histidine is also required for the synthesis of the dipeptide carnosine, this is usually present in sufficient quantities and is therefore not limiting, in contrast to beta-alanine.
