Yamamoto Nutrition presents Vitamin A 1200mcg. Vitamin A is a food supplement that provides 1200 mcg of Vitamin A indicated in case of reduced intake with the diet or increased need.
Vitamin A contributes to the normal function of the immune system and to the maintenance of normal skin and vision.

Science understands the role of vitamin A above all in relation to its effects on the visual apparatus. The human retina has four types of photo pigments containing vitamin A: rhodopsin, present in the rods (retinal cells responsible for night vision), and three iodopsins, present in each of the different cones responsible for day vision (blue, yellow and red ). The form of vitamin A found in these pigments is the 11-cis isomer of the vitamin A (retinal) aldehyde. When a photon of light hits the rod, the 11-cis retinal separates from the rhodopsin molecule, giving rise to all-trans opsin and retinol. This reaction causes a change in the membrane potential and a consequent transmission of the visual impulse.

When there is a flash of bright light (such as the lights of the car's headlights), a temporary discoloration of the rhodopsin occurs. It may take a few seconds before retinal regeneration and vision return occur. If vitamin A levels are low, a longer adaptation time is needed. Bad adaptation to changes in brightness and poor night vision are some of the initial symptoms of vitamin A deficiency
