Do not consume at least two weeks before surgery. Do not consume if currently taking medication for depression, including: fluoxetine (Prozac), paroxetine (Paxil), sertraline (Zoloft), amitriptyline (Elavil), clomipramine (Anafranil), imipramine (Tofranil),phenelzine (Nardil) and tranylcypromine (Parnate). Be cautious taking 5 HTP if you are currently taking: Carbidopa (Lodosyn), Dextromethorphan (Robitussin DM, and others), Meperidine (Demerol), Pentazocine (Talwin), Tramadol (Ultram).
