This Organic Carob Powder from Peru is derived from organically grown, raw unroasted beans that are fermented and sundried over several days in an ambient tropical temperature below 46°C. Naturally sweet, carob powder is derived from the fruit of the carob plant. The fermentation process is a key stage in the development of the classic aroma and flavour of the carob. Because of its high concentration of natural sugar, carob powder can be used to sweeten drinks, desserts, yogurts and smoothies.
