Faith in Nature

Faith in Nature are a beloved brand by zero waste advocates and natural beauty enthusiasts alike, and for good reason. This company has been fighting the good fight since 1971 when the founder, Rivka Rose, crossed the Atlantic from New York to bring organic shampoo to Britain.

Rose’s plan was to make natural, vegan, cruelty-free, and ethical products right from the get-go. So, it’s no surprise that every product Faith in Nature makes is now certified vegan by the Vegan Society, 100% recycled and recyclable, certified Leaping Bunny Cruelty-Free, Made in UK, and 100% naturally fragranced (or fragrance-free!).

Faith in Nature’s ethos is to provide affordable natural products that ‘harness the power of nature without harming it.’ Put another way, these products don’t cost the earth, literally or figuratively. Way back in the ‘70’s, Rose set out to do right by the planet and its people, feeling it was her duty.

To achieve this, Faith in Nature keeps their ingredients lists short and sensible (as in, you can make sense of them). They use organic ingredients where possible, but also keep an eye on affordability, and products are paraben free and sulphate (SLS) free.

If you’ve been wondering why Faith in Nature’s bottles have a slightly grey tinge to them, that would be because they only use fully recycled plastic. Oh, and the company switched their factory power to sustainable biomass recently too!

One other way that Faith in Nature help keep people and the planet looking and feeling good is by offering refill options. You can buy shampoo and conditioner in 400 mL bottles, 5 L refill bottles, and 20 L refill bottles. Check out in-store refills if you already have a bottle, and easily convert an old bottle into a reusable dispenser with a pump to fit 5 L and 20 L bottles.

Alongside fragrance-free options, you can also find shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, restoring, revitalizing, and hydrating hair masks and more. These are available with scents such as hemp and meadowfoam, grapefruit and orange, dragon fruit, lemon and tea tree, blue cedar, seaweed and citrus, wild rose, and more. And every scent is 100% natural, which is better for you and better for the environment!

Faith in Nature’s hand-made, natural, and vegan soaps and hand washes are also award-winning! The hand soaps recently won Silver in the ’Best Natural Hand Soap Product’ category of the Global Green Beauty Awards 2020! And don’t be fooled just because they’re natural. These hygiene products are naturally powerful detergents as effective at removing dirt and bacteria as other cleansers.

Soaps are available unwrapped in boxes of 18, as individually wrapped hand soap bars, and as liquid hand soap in 400 mL, 5 L, and 20 L dispensers. If your skin is feeling the elements as winter approaches, consider the soothing Aloe Vera Soap, which is blended with ylang ylang and patchouli. A great way to wash away dirt and germs while also skipping the plastic and being kind to your skin and the planet. The recycled cardboard packaging is compostable and recyclable and this product is zero waste.

Faith in Nature also offers body washes – again, award-winning! –  and natural vegan skincare in the form of roll-on deodorants and feminine wash designed for sensitive skin.

Their shampoo bars are another great choice as these are specially formulated for hair and are soap-free. This means they have a lower pH than hand soap, which keeps hair looking and feeling much happier and healthier. These shampoo bars are, like the hand soaps, packaged in 100% recycled cardboard and are wonderful for taking with you when you’re travelling! No leaks or messes in suitcases and no liquid limits at security!

Faith in Nature shampoo bars also help you further reduce waste and cut carbon emissions associated with shipping heavier liquid products. To use, just wet the bar and create lather between your hands then massage the lather into your hair, rinse, and go about your day with a little more Faith in Nature.
